First things first…

I owe a big thanks to all of the active members of this forum for thoroughly educating me on this most important life altering decision.

Now on to the fun (or nerve racking in my case) stuff:

I would like validation that I have or have not found “the stone” that I have been searching for.

Carat Weight: 1.32ct
Clarity: VS2
Color: E
Shape: round brilliant
Cut External
Polish: GIA - Excellent
Symmetry: GIA - Excellent
Proportions: AGS - Ideal
Cut Internal
Symmetry - Hearts & Arrows
Light Return - Excellent
BrillianceScope
White Light Return - High
Colored Light Return - Very High +
Scintillation - High

I''m confirming the price but my max budget is in the 10k range, setting included.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Trizeye.......it's hard to give any meaningful feedback without key information like the crown/pavilion angles.

It sounds like it could be a really nice stone, but would help to get that missing data.

The price sound reasonable

post H&A image here if you can.

Aljdewey is correct you might want to check crown and pavilion angles as well since AGS0 grade is rather broad.

Thanks aljdewey!

From GIA:

Depth = 61.9%
Table = 57%
Girdle = Medium to slightly thick, faceted
Culet = None

Hope this info helps and don't hesitate to ask for more info!

Thanks again,
Shawn

Would you be referrring to this?

http://www.goodoldgold.com/1_32ct_e_vs2_h&a.htm

If it is, you would need to click on the link (and download the Sarin Web Viewer) to obtain the Sarin analysis for the diamond, which will include the crown and pavillion angles. Based on the information, you would be able to determine if it is within ideal cut (AGS0) parameters as well as run a HCA check.

Hi trizeye,
Looks like your stone is from http://www.goodoldgold.com/1_32ct_e_vs2_h&a.htm

I was also looking at how the diamond looks under the Gemex system. There are 6 light views and I hope someone can explain why it looks diffuse and irregular and rather yellowish instead of whitish while in some other diamonds the patterns are a bit more regular. Although it is supposed to be a H&A cut, the light pattern is not in the Very High state for all three as compared to how regular the patterns are in Superbcert diamonds and how the light patterns are in very high states for all three.
Is it because of the Cut?

Stonelover,

That's exactly the one!

I'm also looking at:

http://www.goodoldgold.com/1_27ct_e_vs2_h&a.htm
http://www.goodoldgold.com/1_27ct_d_vs2_h&a.htm

My current thinking is:

I'm indifferent as to the color (D vs E), because both are colorless
Clarity is VS2 on all of them

My biggest concerns are the crown and pavilion angles on the cut for each and their light return as indicated by the Brilliance Scope.

Is this flawed logic?

Hi,
Hope Rhino or Mara can explain what I couldn't understand about the brilliant scope results in relation to the Cut!
