What does a 60/60 style mean? What style should I be shooting for?

A 60/60 style diamond means a table and depth around 60 % . This also gives you white light return vs fire. Most people on here prefer a more balanced stone which gives white light return and fire ( colored flashes )

Recommend proportions for most PS members

Depth: 60 - 62.3
Table: 54 - 57
Crown Angle: 34 - 35
Pavillion Angle : 40.6 - 40.8
Lower Girdle Facets: 75 - 80
Girdle: Thin - Slightly Thick

This is the G that I saw todayA03A94EC-043F-4B24-99CA-FEAD54820A37.jpeg86873111-6D12-4032-9495-9AA3F22CDED5.jpeg9717927F-7838-4632-899B-601F75CD6612.jpeg97D5A7E0-B067-4BF5-B8B7-61BAA0B61CED.jpeg

These are the imperfections in the stone. Priced even lower now just above $13k.

Would this be a better option over a CBI 1.65 I color for $200 less.

This would absolutely not be a better option than the CBI. If you want the best cut diamond with the best performance go with CBI. If that doesn't matter to you go with a sub par GIA Triple X. For 200 more on the CBI I would go with the CBI for sure.

$200 less for the CBI but 2 colors darker. I color for CBI vs G color of the diamond I posted above.

I would choose the CBI 100% over this one. CBI stones face up really white and are amazing

I didn’t follow the entire thread but it seems like the I color was within your tolerance to start but u seem to be questioning either the color or the premium with CBI.
No doubt a superideal comes with some premium n if we discount grading labs, an I is still an I. Would u be mind clean with it.
Personally if I was working with a superideal ideal vendor n needed to meet a budget, I would drop clarity first as color is easier to spot than clarity.

I guess my concern was the price of the CBI I color being almost the same price as a G color GIA XXX with an HCA score under 2.0.

I'm going to sleep on it and make a decision tomorrow.

Were you able to get your deposit back from your local jeweler you were dealing with?

Does the origin of the diamond affect the composition causing a stone to be more or less prone to chipping?

I heard diamonds coming from the northern hemisphere (Canada, Russia, etc) have a harder composition compared to stones coming from Africa or India. Is this true?

I decided to go with the CBI from HPD.

Thank you everyone for your advice and answers to my questions.
