Hi all,

This' my first ever post, and also my first ever diamond purchase, I'm hoping to get some advice on this forum, thanks in advance.

Here's the specs of the diamond:

Carat: 1.00
Color: F
Clarity: VS1
Cut: Very Good
Lab: GIA
Polish/Symmetry: Excellent
(and of course i forgot to note the GIA number...)

The salesperson also insisted the diamond is H&A, I 'kinda' see it under the microscope, however nothing is listed on the GIA certificate.

I was offered a price of $11,788 CDN (~$11,300US?), which includes tax and a 18k white gold ring of my choice.

Is this a reasonable price, what do you guys think?

Thanks in advance for helping, I appreciate all the response!

We need to know why it is VG in cut. Need the GIA report number.

You do not see if a stone has H&A under the microscope, need to see it with a H&A scope. Also, GIA does not grade if a stone is H&A or not, they will note whatever is inscribed on the girdle of the stone.

yap, that will do.

Total depth too large, crown angle is too large to be complimentary with the pavilion angle. These 2 factors result in the stone having a smaller diameter, face-up size than similar well cut 1 carat stone, you can get the same diameter with a 0.93-0.95c stone, and not as bright due to the angles not being complimentary to one another.

Use this tool as a rejection tool.
