I have be doing my research and the time has come that I must move on and pick one to order. I am looking to spend about $2,000, less would be better, more could be ok. I have listed below my top choices. Input and comments are welcome. I plan to call to make the order tonight. I know i will need to ask if the ELG certs are ELG-USA and if each diamond is eyeclean. Also I notice that some of these diamonds say ideal cut round in one location then just ''round'' in another. Are they all ideal cuts? Can I call the vender to have them verify this? Please help my make my selection and make a great young lady very excited this Christmas morning!

if you want to have this by christmas, you better order NOW. unless you just plan of having the stone set at a later date. this is the busiest time of the year for jewelers and it takes some time to have a stone set and delivered. your best bet is to get a stone that is already in-stock and having the stone set in a mount that is in stock. my pick is #2

quickly!

One or two (One is repeated at 8); I'd forget the rest, with no info in hand for them; they don't seem to be held at the store, but assessed at a distance.

Nothing else looks promising to compete, either, on the quick search.

Interestingly, on the Price Stats search, a new player, Spencer, is the only helpful resource, and does present lots of options you could consider to: a) lower your cost, b) benefit your color, c) increase your size...all marginally however, and all somewhat unknown until seen.

Unless you want to consult with an appraiser to pursue comparing options with a couple of vendors, and if speed is anything of a factor...options 1 & 2 may be the clear way to go!

Warm regards,

First choice # 2. #8 would be my second choice.

Best stone and price there is #2. #1 & #8 are also nice but not as nice. Forget EGL. SI3 is a nice I1. GIA certs don''t have enough info. AGS is the one to buy. If they say it is ideal, bet the house on it that it is.

I would go with either #1 or #2.

I almost bought #1 a couple of weeks ago. I spoke with both Lesley and Brian and they were both very helpful. They assured me that the stone faces up very white, and that the stone is eye clean. However, I got hung up on the inclusion in the middle, and went with a different stone, but I still think #1 would be a fantastic buy. If you feel the same way I did, get #2, otherwise go with #1!

Cheers,
Eban

Thanks for you input... I went with number #2, set in a simple 4 prong white gold setting. She will be able pick out a different setting after the proposal if she wants. Yeah.
