Is this a good deal?

The jeweler I am working with said this was a gorgeous stone and slam dunk for the price, that something like this is hard to come by. They had to make quick moves to get it because there were other buyers reaching out the dealer and that I’d need to make a quick decision. Going to see it in person within the next two days, but what are your initial thoughts?

Price: $13400

Very good polish made me a bit concerned, but everything else looks great. Jeweler said it also surprised them given how good it looks on the video.

I plan to pair it with two lab epaulets side stones similar to Olivia Culpo’s ring just as some additional information.

the VG polish with the surface graining might give me pause - especially since you are paying a Premium $ for the VVS grade...

most likely you could find lesser priced $ VS or eye clean Si1's without polish/graining issue.

The sales tactic of "MOVE FAST, THIS IS LIMITED!" is always a lie, and always shady nonsense. There's nothing limited or special about this stone in particular. Surface graining isn't great, especially when you're paying for a VVS stone. Id go with another jeweler.

I said this on your Reddit post but will reiterate here to bring it to people's attention: the original poster is planning to use labs for the side diamonds with their natural center stone because the epaulettes cost a lot more when natural ($4k vs $800). I don't know if that price is reasonable or not for the natural sides, but I would never suggest getting an E/VVS natural diamond center with lab diamond sides. I really think you should go a bit down in specs on the center diamond (F-G VS, which is still great color and clarity!) and have the ring be fully natural.

Tagging @tyty333 to weigh in on the oval

Yes would be a shame to mix natural with synthetics..
here's some natural sides for price $ compare....
