Hi Pricescopers! I'm shopping for an engagement ring for my girlfriend of 3 years, and need some help interpreting some ASET/Idealscope images. I've lurked around for a few weeks and have learned more about diamonds than I ever thought I would, and this site has lead me to Good Ol Good to find a hearts and arrows round. Once I decide on a diamond, I'm hoping to work with Mark Morrell to set my diamond in either a petite torchiere or a fancy torchiere setting. I've been working with Matt at GOG and he found me a diamond with exactly the specs I'm looking for (1.2 carat, F, VS1, 1.5 HCA score) but the hearts image is troubling me. I haven't seen the little specs of red in the hearts images in other diamonds and don't know how to interpret that. Are these inclusions? The GIA certificate unfortunately isn't available to me just yet (maybe tomorrow). Should this be something I should be concerned about? Is there anything about this particular diamond that should make me reconsider?

Alternatively, he found this one as well, but it just misses the mark for the superior optical symmetry grading.

What would you do? Thanks for any help!

I like stone #1. The red spots are most likely one tiny VS1 inclusion reflecting off the facets of the stone.

Thanks for the help, hopefully the certificate will clear up the issue. Is the bit of blue in the ASET image a concern? What causes that?
