Hi, I''m in need of some major help. Been looking at the last few days. I need to purchase something by this Friday, not sure if I''ll make it. :P

I finally decided that I want a exact carat size of 1.28

I''ve seen it price from 5k - 11k. Would really appreciate some pointers on what''s good. I''ve heard of getting a image scope to truely see how well it performs, but not sure about the process of requesting this and even really know how to interrupt it.

Here''s a few for considerations

There''s an ACA as well, not quiet exact 1.28...

Thanks!

I don't know much about princesses in general but that ACA one's picture looks MUCH MUCH more appealing to the eye than the others.

ETA: I don't believe WF has the first two in stock, making it more difficult to get by friday. I think they are "virtual diamonds" whereas the ACA has been hand selected by WF and is an excellent cut. The ACA also does have all the relevant reports, which you can view right next to the picture. Just click on the "Idealscope" word. It looks good for that one!

I just noticed myself that the ACA have all the images like image scope available. Guess that''s why they charge the premium for it. LOL.

It''s just been difficult for me to research too much as I''m right next to my sleeping gf right now. :P

I really like the ACA.... but I really really wanted an exact 1.28. Just a play on numbers. Still this is my top choice for the moment.

Regarding settings... is it possible to get it re-set on a later date if I choose a simple solatire. That way she can choose the perfect setting she wants. Would hate to drop 2k on a setting only to find out she doesn''t like it.

Thanks again.

that plan for a simple setting is a great one, let her enjoy getting engaged and having the ring and she can choose what she likes after. Is she set on a princess cut?

First stone is too rectangular. Technically, it is a 1.28 GIA only gives up to the hundredths of a carat.

Of those options, I would pick the ACA...

However, instead, I would get a similar AGS000 princess but drop down to VS2, which will be visibly identical clarity-wise, but avoid the IF premium...

like this one: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/2862/, for $6485.

They charge a premium for it because its an IF.

Yeah, she''s pretty set on Princess. I know she likes channel settings, but there are quite a few. She never seems to like I what pick out. Weather it''s furniture or kitchen designs. LOL so I figure I''ll just pick a stone.

Regarding price scope discount. I see it when I do a search, but how exactly do you get the discount? When I click on the links, it just gives me the normal price.

"Technically, it is a 1.28 GIA only gives up to the hundredths of a carat. "

Wouldn''t they round up from 1.286 to 1.29. Sorry for being so stuck on this number, but that''s my main criteria.

I''d like to for go the IF premium, but it''s hard to find a good cut diamond. :P If anyone have any other choices that are 1.28ct, I''ll be most gratefull.

mention it over email or phone, usually pay by wire

no, it does not get rounded up to 1.29

wesbc, why rush such an important decision and purchase? Someone else in another thread suggested the guy buy a fake ring and present it as a temporary ring until they picked out their ring together so she''d get exactly what she wanted. If it was me, I''d love that idea...Just a thought because you sound so rushed and I think you shouldn''t rush such a big purchase. Plus you said she doesn''t like what you pick out...Why not make it a fun thing you can do together? Just a thought...

Regarding the Pricescope discount you have to ask if you can get the discount. The discount is shown on the Pricescope search not on the vendors site. If you put the stones details in the bar above which says Pricescope your diamond you will see the bank wire price there. This price is not applicable to credit card.

If you are ordering online you have to do it through the vendors site at the price stated there and when they call you back you can ask them then about the discount.

Can someone give me an opinion for this diamond. Wish I can get some actual image and ideal scope image. But due to my turnaround time needed that might not be possible. But at least specs wise, just curious what folks think.

I suppose right now my choice is the peace of mind of the ACA from WhiteFlash, but pay the price. Or risk the choice of the above but with the possiblity of it turnout to be an awesome diamond. Now they do have a 30day returns which is better then WhiteFlash.

I do want to say a word of thanks for all the advice so far that folks have given me.

If you are totally set on the 1.28 thing, I think the ACA is your only solid choice. I hate to see you spend all that extra $$$ on the IF, though, when that is total overkill.

I think the GOG option I posted is a much better choice/value overall if you can get over the 1.28 thing. That stone is 1.24, I think, so if you are going custom with your setting you could burnish set two-pointers on either side to get TCW to 1.28. Just a thought.

Thanks Jeff for your continue feedback.

I''ve decided on the ACA. It''s what I get for procrasinating. LOL.

The diamond you found is gorgeous and definitely a find and great value. Reason I''m stuck on the number thing is 28 sounding in Chinese means (Easy Riches), sort of. 1.24 would be bad, as that is (Easy Death). LOL, but the one you found is 1.23 so that''s ok.

I had a hard time for a while trying to even pin-point what size I want to get, nothing too small, but nothing crazy big, and heard a friend of mine geting a 1.8 (Must get Rich) so I stole his idea.

Well I feel a load of my shoulder... it''s now on my bank account!!! haha
