Hi to all,

First post here and wanted to say hello to everyone. I came across a ring and it looks very much like a Chopard Happy Diamond collection ring. It does not have a Chopard signature on the shank. It has BJC jewelers mark on inside. I google BJC which appears to stand for Benham Jewelry Corp. They don't seem to have anything like this. Any input would be a big help!!!

Hi Gliderguy,

It's highly unlikely that a Chopard peice would have the name rubbed off, if the rest of the piece seems in such good condition. A quick google image search didn't yeild any rings that match yours. I think it's "Chopard-style", but not an authentic piece. Can you take it to an appraiser?

Thank you for the reply.

It does not appear that anything would have rubbed off. It looks like the Happy Diamond collection has been around since the 70's so I thought it might be some obscure early example, that did not have regular markings. From what I understand that design is patented, in some way, and for another jeweler to copy that style so closely would not be acceptable. The site glass, of a two of the hearts is in bad shape and needs work. It has a jewelers mark of "BJC" and the 18k stamp of "750". I searched BJC and found nothing close to this design.
