I'm currently looking for an ideal cut heats and arrows diamond. Looking mainly at Brian gavin and White flash.

All my candidates score between 1.1-1.5 and I get a message saying that "the diamond will look dark up close"

What should I look for in order to find a "best for rings" stone?

Thanks in advance!

Not sure about Gavin but Whiteflash ACA do not need HCA as HCA is a rejection tool and I have no doubt WF have integrity.

Can you give us a stone that showed this (dark up close)?

You dont really need to run AGS000 stones through the HCA tool.

Agreed - very low HCA scores by definition have big spreads.
Big spreads / shallow diamonds get no penalty on HCA.

Thanks Garry for the gif...

What I was hoping was that the OP would post the link to a Super Ideal stone that showed the "dark up close" message sp we could have
a look at all the numbers.

Thank you for your replies! The GIF really gave me a clear idea of the effect.
I cannot help but thinking that placing your head in between the light source and your diamond will always "darken" the stone no matter how it is cut?

I have run out of "HCA's" but I can tell you that the stones i looked at were all right in the middle of "TIC" And AGS 000.
