Hi! I feel like I have been looking forever! I have a 5 stone band.. we are doing this backwards! my husband now wants to get me an e-ring to go with .. :) .. I was bent on having a vintage ornate setting but after trying some on they just really look terrible with this ring. It sits High on my finger. I really didn't want something plain, but now I'm thinking maybe I do. If you have a ring similar to mine PLEASE show me what you put with it!

I think the total ct weight on the ring is just under 2 carats, it has been hard to find much of anything in local jewelry stores that doesn't look overwhelmed by my band. So I am thinking I will need AT LEAST a 1.5ct center stone? probably closer to 2up.. Husband wants a 3 but I'm the logical person here and not sure I want to spend what it would take for that! .. Thanks SO MUCH!

The solitaire in the photo was the largest stone the local shop had.. I do not want that shape.. I prefer round or cushion.. but for size comparison to the ring that was a 1.75 stone

Sorry I can't reply in detail now. But that five stone is a lot of bling to wear with any ering. If you love it and want that "walk of blin" look on a regular basis, that is totally cool. I do that look on occasion. But if you're the sort that wants a delicate looking antique style ering, the looks will clash. Search my posts and you will see some wall of bling looks, and in that case if you want your ering NOT to be overwhelmed by your five stone, I think you gotta go big. At least 2.5 if you're considering a princess cut or round. I had a 2.59 round that I thought wasn't quite big enough. With my 3 carat, I thought it was ok. But in the end after wearing the ering for a while, I'm talking a couple of years, I really still wanted my ering to be the star. Now my five stone goes on my right hand if at all.

hi.. I hear what you are saying.. I do have a thin band I sometimes wear with this big band.. if need be I can always wear the e-ring with it. and then when I want the big bling on my wedding finger put them all together or use the tiny one kind of as a spacer. .. I have always liked three stone rings so I'm thinking that may be an option too. .. I'm attaching a photo of another ring I tried on "for stone size" .. the stone was awful, but the size was 3.2 carat for that center.... that seems TOO much bling to me.. but you can see the small band that I could interchange in this photo also

I have a five stone band (2 ct. total weight) that I wear on my right hand. With a large five stone band, it is really difficult to find a stone and setting that look really good with it - unless you really do want that wow look with ering and band. If you wear the five stone on your right hand alone, you can choose whatever size ering and band that you like - rather than trying to make something work!

I'm sorry, I just don't think it looks right wearing something else with it, it's such a stand out ring, it's eclipsing the other rings.

Welcome Biana! :wavey: You have certainly come to the right place to see lots of gorgeous bling and get ideas. We all have different styles and goals but I have to agree that your 5 stone is a substantial ring and will over power pretty much any ering you put with it. If you like that look go for it!

I would just wear them separately. This way you can get an ornate vintage setting you want and not worry about them matching.

That is interesting that everyone is saying it is so substantial and should be alone. I have never felt like it was dinky but did seem less than what I wore with my first husband so maybe it is just psychological ..however I'm thinking the close ups may be make by it seem bigger than it is...here it is from a distance. ...yes I've thought about wearing on my right hand ..but it IS my wedding band and that seems a little odd too.(psychologically and sentimentally..this also happens to be my grandmothers wedding ring)..maybe I should consider another band to stack with it..I do love an ecclectic look too .

Bianca, check out this thread. There are some pics of a substantial 5 stone with a 2.59 ering. That is my 5 stone at the top and it's smaller than yours, 1.5 total weight. My old center was 2.59. I could wear it together for a couple of days but pretty soon it felt "too much". That is just me. Maybe you'll be fine with it. I ended up changing directions and did go for a slightly larger OEC with baguette sides. I will be resetting to a vintage inspired setting at some point, which I will wear with a plain or skinny single cut eternity band. My five stone is on my right hand sometimes. I admit I'm not much of a RHR girl. It's hard to know without test driving for a certain amount of time. Give yourself time and don't feel like you need to commit now. Look at lots of pictures and be honest with yourself. It will save you lots of money down the road.

yours is gorgeous! I really like the look, but I do agree that would wear on me on a daily basis all together, but I love the look. ..Maybe I just do something similar to that and wear with the tiny band on a daily basis with the big band on the right.. but for dress up , night out etc wear all together.
