Need help finding a three-stone setting

Hi everyone,

I''ve been lurking for a couple weeks and found this site so helpful - now I''m running into some issues. I have three stones from my mother that I''d like to use to make a three stone ering: two .33s and a 1.01 center stone (they match). I really like the trellis and "truffle" three stone settings. The problem is that I can''t seem to find a reputable/reliable place to buy the setting without the sidestones already in it. I priced a similar setting at a local jeweler for about $750 in white gold, which is about what I think is reasonable to pay for the plain gold setting (is that right?)

Are there other places out there that will work with people who already have stones for that price range? It doesn''t seem like I should have to go thru the expense/hassle of having something custom done when its such a standard design, but maybe I''m wrong.

I''m also interested in any ideas for other three stone designs that would work for these size stones with a simple, graceful look and a reasonably low profile.

Lots of places weill set diamonds for you. I''d call Brian Gavin and get a quote (I know he does settings using other people''s diamonds, and his trelli-type settings are beautifully fluid...) I''m not sure if he''ll beat the $750 price of your local jeweler, but it never hurts to ask

Thanks so much!! I just talked to them and they have just what I wanted. I just felt strange going with an inexpensive setting and fitting my stones into it...they will custom do it for about $1275 which is very reasonable. I''m a bit nervous about sending my stones to Houston, but from what I understand most jewelers send them out to be reset anyway...so I''ll be okay and they sound very professional. I''ll feel much better knowing that they made it to fit the stones. So glad I asked!
