Hello everyone,

I have an old Cartier emerald ring that has been in my family for a while, and I'm looking to learn more about it and get an estimate of its current value. Unfortunately, I don't have much information about its history or original price.

I've attached a photo of the ring for reference. If anyone has knowledge about this particular model or can point me in the right direction to learn more, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you in advance for your help! IMG_3715.jpg

Take it to a Cartier retail store. They will be happy to help you. If you are not in a location where they are, call one nearest to you. They will tell you how to submit your piece by mail.

That's lovely -- and will need some work.

If it has sentimental value and you trust the provenance ("for a while" meaning the relative bought it new or meaning found at a flea market during the pandemic), I would rehab it. Easy to pop out of those prongs and one is already damaged. A Boyd Fox or similar could do wonders with all of those table and meet-point abrasions. I would even consider re-oil since I suspect that will be needed. I tend to leave well enough alone but this can be immeasurably improved without a boatload of investment, imo.

HI:

Cartier doesn't authenticate or do archive searches to the same end. Do you have the original documents? That helps when doing to Cartier for repair work, etc.

cheers--Sharon
