Hello all ~
Newbie here trying to figure out which setting i should choose for my upcoming upgrade. I'm getting a 2.04 M round hearts & arrows. I love the look of the rose gold with the warmer stones

Here are the options... both are from Adiamor. I'm also unsure of which band i should choose to go with. One is plain 2mm rose gold and the other is rose gold with 15 points of pave.

Oh, my finger size is 4.5 in order to go over my knuckle. I'd say my actual finger size is a 4 or maybe less.

If you have other options you would like to share, please post away!! My budget is about 1K up to 1200.

The rings are non refundable since they're 'special order' because i want them in 14k as opposed to 18k. So with that said, i'm nervous that either one of these halo settings will look really big on my tiny hands. I've thought about going just solitaire but i really like the look of the warmer diamonds being surrounded with the rose gold and the whiter diamonds. I'm so indecisive!

This one does come up as a rose gold setting but it's not in their drop down menu for gold choices, So i need to verify that this can be done in rose gold.

i cannot wait to see this.

if you go halo it WILL be big, but oh well :wink2: . this is a taaaadddd over your budget, but i know they will do it rose gold, and if you get it though good old gold or pearlmans they might go lower

whats the stone you are going for??

as for the band i would just get a plain non curved wedding band, i think it will look better, especially when your rings are moving around and not always aligned exactly the same

Hi there!

I'll be paying off the diamond and getting the setting in late April and the diamond will be paid off in early to mid May.

My first post on here was the stats on my diamond. I didn't get the most enthusiastic feedback on it but I'm still going with it. I love the warmth, and although it's EGL, it is EGL USA, from what i've read they are more reputable with grading. Anywho, here's the cert. No pics of it. I fly over on March 30th to see it in person. My jeweler picked it out. He said if faces up white and sparkles like crazy!!

The wedding band has to be curved on order to fit flush. I'm still not 100% sure about that look either. Right now i have a 3mm band that sits perfect against my trellis setting.

Neilseel ~I love the Ritani setting you suggested, very pretty!

i understand the concept of the curved band, I just think its less attractive than a plain band would be, one i think it would sit flush enough to the ring (especially that ritani) that you probably would even notice, two.. if there was a slight gap, it would be less noticeable than a large gap when that band would twist and get out of sync with the e ring.

And I like a warm color like that too, i was looking at your other post I just think they were saying the color probably isnt going to be a true M and the angles could be better... just make sure to get it out of those jewelry store lights and make sure it sparkles to your satisfaction!

cant wait to see it

Very unique and pretty look! IMHO, the plain white gold e-ring band paired with the rose gold diamond wedding band to relate to the rose gold halo- hands down. Love love love.

I love RG with warm stones as well!
I think it was ksmom's (sp?) ring that sold me on that lovely look!
Just a note - GOG is no longer working with Ritani. (They are doing a RG ring for me, and I was originally looking at Ritani.)
Regardless, I am sure whichever you choose will be gorgeous.
I also would stick with a straight w-band for sheer versatility, even if you don't favor any gap.

the ring that has the rose gold halo and white gold band...if i choose that one, it'll actually be in all rose gold. i've had white gold for years. although it's very beautiful, i want to get away from rhodium plating. And i think the contrast between the plain rose gold and the pave halo will be very nice :naughty:

I totally agree with everyone saying i should get a non curved band. But I am wondering how it would look if the band weren't curved. Would there be a huge gap between the bands? I'm not sure my perfection-ism could handle that! LOL =)

personally i would probably go over to the SMTB subforum and start a "show me halos AND wedding bands" thread if there isnt one already. See exactly what it looks like

ETA only other thing ill say about that stone is that i do believe 2 cts should be over 8mm, so your paying a premium for that "2ct" name but it wont face up like one. could probably find a 1.9 that faces up the same size and is cheaper due to the fact it didnt hit that hot ticket number

I found this stone

i looked up the report it says "h&A" along with the angles get under a 2 on the HCA.... might be worth having them call it in and see if its eye clean.... that would be a nice stone!

I hear ya. That's why I'm going there to see it on the 30TH. I looked up the HCA on my potential stone and it's a 3.4. It's a little too deep and i will be honest, when i got the cert for it i was disappointed to see it wasn't 8mm or slightly over. Since being on this forum and reading lots of threads, i'm starting to feel this isn't the right choice.

The reason I'm not buying a diamond elsewhere is because i've invested in their store. I'll never get back what i paid for it. I've talked to my hubby about selling what i have outright, but it would be a loss, which he doesn't want to do. I will say, i sit here and look thru all the threads about OEC's and fall outta my chair by their beauty. I would love to have one. I kinda feel stuck with going thru my jeweler...Not a good feeling to have.

If i don't go thru my jeweler i have a budget of 5400 for a new stone. This is just cash on hand. then i'd have to sell my current ring.

That diamond looks like its in the vertical inventory. Send the cert never to the place you're getting it from maybe he can has access to the stone too. If not, ask hif he can pull a few more for you to see.

Sorry, i'm new to this, what do you mean 'vertical' inventory? And, are you speaking of the link you posted from Excel?

Haha by vertical I mean virtual. Stupid phone.

Meaning they don't actually have it in there store its at a third party vendor that many vendors have access to. Meaning if you ask your store might also have access to the stone I linked you from excel.

Oh I See!! Haha :)

So i sent an email to my jeweler to see if they can get that diamond thats link is posted above by nielseel. It's DEF way better, cheaper and bigger than the one i have on hold. Basically i told him that if he cant get this one for me, or find one equivalent, i just want to cancel the hold on my diamond. I dont think he's trying to pull one over on me by selling me the diamond i have the hold on, but that's all they have in their inventory for 2ct at 10k. If i have to wait for him to find me one, fine. but i'm not gonna let them keep my 2k in the meantime

I thank everyone for opening my eyes that i truly wasn't making the right purchase. When i do find the right diamond I'm still gonna get that setting i posted HEHE

Have you considered going with an OEC for your center stone? I think an old cut in the rose gold halo would be fabulous!! If you're interested we can help make suggestions for you.

Yes I Have. They Are Such Beautiful Diamonds. every Time I See One Posted On Here I Just Oogle The Pictures. They Have So Much character :)

But First I Must Settle Things With My Jeweler. Then I Can have The Freedom Of Purchasing Elsewhere..
