need help choosing which diamond is a better deal....

Hi all,

I'm a newbie in this forum and new to the diamond search scene and I am going to buy a ring for my partner and I have three diamonds which I'm interested in:

1st: Round 0.70 carat G, VS1, diamond which has an AGS cerified Ideal cut (light performance - 0, polish - 0, symmetry - 0)
- inclusions: cloud and needle according to AGS report but difficult to see under 10x magnification
2nd: Round 0.74 carat G, VS2, diamond with a GIA certified Excellent cut (polish & symmetry = excellent)
- inclusions: cloud, FEATHER, crystal according to GIA report and hard to see with naked eye but noticeable under 10x magnification
3rd: Round 0.77 carat H, VS1 diamond with a GIA certified Excellent cut (polish & symmetry = excellent)
- inclusions: cloud only, and again difficult to see under 10x magnfication

In terms of the cost, 2nd and 3rd stone costs the same but the first stone is $200 cheaper. Which would you choose? Are the feathers and cloud going to be an issue?

I read online that even though the diamond is smaller in carat than another stone of the same color and clarity, if the CUT of the smaller diamond is an IDEAL cut based on AGS standards and the CUT of the slightly bigger diamond by for example, 0.04 carat difference has EXCELLENT CUT, the smaller diamond will look more prominent due to its better light performance, brilliance and fire. In a way the smaller diamond will look bigger. Is this phenomenon true in your opinion?

I personally prefer to purchase the .70 carat diamond because it has an IDEAL CUT and I don't think there is going to be a signficant difference in performance even if there is a .04 to 0.07 carat difference.
How much of a difference will there be in terms of colourlessness between a G and a H color diamond? I want to be as close to F as possible in terms of COLORLESS property.

There is little difference between F and H. H will still look colorless 99% of the time, particularly if it's well-cut.

An AGS ideal is not always better than a GIA excellent, though the requirements are more strict. If you're buying blind with the cert, buy the AGS, but if you can get more information, there's a chance the GIA is just as well, if not better, cut.

I love the proportions of this diamond. My only concern is that under 10x magnification, the feather inclusion under the table may be noticeable.
In your opinion, do you feel you would notice the little white feather inclusion? Obviously, just by the naked eye it is eye clean.

Here is the second diamond: (the crown angle is a tad bit shallower)

0.79 carat E color vs2 Round diamond: This diamond looks like a vs1 due to the fact that i cannot locate any inclusion even though it
has it. Extremely eye clean for a vs2

Based on this information so far, this diamond seems as promising as the previous diamond .77 f color vs2 diamond.
But again, without the idealscope image, i will not really know.

The crown angle though is on the shallower side but is there an advantage to it?
I have heard that having a tad bit shallower crown angle would get me more brilliance but less dispersion/fire.
Is this the case?

Anyone have any feedback on these two diamonds F vs2 and E vs2? Don't be afraid to make a comment. I will not bite or criticize

I like fire, so I'd take the one with the higher crown.

thanks for your input. Indeed, the higher crown angle would produce more fire or be a good balance between brilliance and fire.
I just also got a feedback from another individual that having a crown angle of 33, while other parameters such as depth is 61.7, table is 56, pavillion angle 41 will only have a slight effect of producing less fire and a bit more brillance. So if both diamonds were placed side by side there will not be any noticeable visual differences. A couple of opinions were exchanged with similiar explanations.
