Hi Everyone! I am desperately asking for help in choosing the RB carat weight for my e-ring. The setting is Tacori, made to fit 1 ct RB. I originally purchased online a rb 0.54 ct stone, knowing that the head will need to be modified to fit the stone. When the stone arrived, I was totallly in love with it, though eventually came to realize it was merely because it was so sparkley and already in my possession!?!
My soon-to-be and I decided we wanted a bigger stone, fearing the setting will overwhelm the .54.
So, now it''s back to the drawing board! My question to PS is does anyone happen to know the minimum rb measurments that will fit a setting made for a 1 ct stone without being modified? If we can avoid the modification (that will be permanent, no option for upgrade to larger stone!) we will save a good amount of money, money that can go toward a larger stone. We are finding great stones that are in the range of 5.71 to 5.8 give or take a few hundredths of a mm. I am hoping that we can settle on a 5.8 mm and have that fit in the setting.
The setting is coming from a jeweler in WI that has a great price and offers more than other jewelers. In an email, I have asked this same question to our salesman, though did not get a specific answer, go figure! So I figure I will try my luck with PS, an unbiased response that has no bearing on commission
, before we get back to our guy
I hope I gave enough info, thanks for any help in advance. This process is beginning to give quite a headache and I am just looking forward to having my ring and being beside myself with joy when I finally get it! Hope to hear from you soon!
