Hi All

First of all I have been reading this forum for a few weeks now and I must say the level of advice available is impressive: definitely a great place to learn!

Now I need to buy a round diamond for my fiance’s ER.
After looking on several websites I came across these 2 stones which would fit my budget. They both seem to rate well on HCA. I was also told by the dealer they were eye clean.
Any thoughts on them? Which one would you recommend?

Many thanks
Rairom

Looks promising from the numbers. Can you get an idealscope image of both from the vendor?

Hi Rairom,

Ditto Stone, both have potential, the first is what we call a 60 60 type ( 60% depth and table), well worth getting an Idealscope image for. The second could also be perfectly fine but as it has borderline '' steep deep'' angle ranges, light leakage is a possibility so an Idealscope image would be very helpful to see if this is or is not the case.

Thanks both for your answers, that''s very interesting.
I asked the sales rep for idealscope images of both stones: she said she would enquire with the vendors.

In the case where I do not get the idealscope pictures do you consider them as "risky" purchases? Would you be able to say which one has the greatest potential/should have my preference?

Thanks again!

The second has borderline steep deep angles so I personally would not want to buy it without an Idealscope image, without images we have no way to judge either with any real accuracy unfortunately.
