Like the subject says, I need a second (or 3rd,4th,100th) opinion on choosing between two stones. Since this is a surprise I can''t really ask anyone around me. Everyone here has been a great help so far, just looking for help with the final decision.

The 1st stone is a 1.73 G IF VG VG

The 2nd stone is a 1.53 F IF EX VG

Any an all help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I am no expert, but I like the appearance of the 1.73 better. The windmills and step pattern is more appealing to my eye.

No expert either (just an asscher lover) but I agree. I like the 1.73 better. The over all shape and pattern looks more pleasing to me.

No contest. The smaller stone has some seriously wonky windmills.

I vote for the larger diamond. It has better symmetry IMO.

I really liked the 1.73 as well, I just didn''t want to bias my own thread :) I guess I should have called this a what do you think of the 1.73 than a choose between 2 thread.

My only concern about this stone was the ideal scope. It seemed to show more black than I have seen on other Asschers. Any thoughts? I do really like the stone though, when I look at it it feels like you can almost fall into it.

Out of the two I like the 1.73ct stone better also.

However, is that a little bit of a cutlet i''m seeing in the magification image?

I do not believe so. I am looking at the GIA report and it lists cutlet as none. I wonder if was just the way the stone was tilted or the lite that was used.

Definitely the 1.73 looks best to me out of the three. Can you post the actual photo of it too please?

This is the only other pic that I have.

Does anyone have any input on the IS or ASET image and the black bands on them? I like the stone, but those are the only things concering me at this point.

thanks.

WF has a good return policy. What about having it sent to an appraiser so you can have another opinion?

The inventory of IF stones of that size cannot be large. Me thinks you will not find internal perfection along with cut perfection
