Hi all,

I am having a difficult time choosing a wedding ring. I have what I think is a very traditional engagement ring, and I’m having trouble picking a wedding band that will be complimentary but not too traditional or boring. I have attached photos of my engagement ring and potential options, but I am open to anything. The last option with a wider band is on my pinky because that’s the only size the jeweler had. It’s also an option to do two of that width of band, one on each side. I also attached what my ring looks like from the side, as that may limit my options in terms of trying to prevent damage to the engagment ring. Please reply with photos of your wedding sets for inspo! Thank you in advance! _3464.jpeg

I’m no expert but visually, I prefer the top ring in the first two pictures. The pave stones on that WB look more complimentary to the pave stones on your ER. Height wise, the top WB seems to sit lower and is more in line with your ER. In terms of safety, I would wait for some of the more seasoned PSers to chime in as your ER has a rather intricate undergallery.

Gorgeous ring btw! :kiss2: Where is the setting from?

I would probably go with something not matchy-matchy. Beautiful ring by the way...you are going to need a separator ring due to the pave on your donut.

Here is a thread that shows people stacking bands with their erings...probably worth a look for ideas. If I find anything in particular that I think will look good
I'll post later.

I agree with Tyty also — go with a few mismatched bands for a personalized stack when not wearing your whopper of a ER :mrgreen2:

Wasn’t sure what your style preference is but mixing in some colored metals might be fun!

I like the way it looks in the top picture, but with both bands that look like the top one on both sides for reasons stated by @justdeb__

Your e-ring is gorgeous!!

AF2F5EEA-A3D3-4BFF-9065-5B93C5E27BDB.png Thank you all so much for your replies. Steven Kirsch made my engagement ring and will make my wedding band. I asked him to show me what this pattern would look like in marquise diamonds (to look like leaves). I think it would be gorgeous. He could make it the same height as my engagement ring band. It is shown here next to a band the same width as mine for scale. Do you think it’s too nontraditional/large compared to my ring? I have always loved leaf/floral bands....

Your engagement ring is lovely! I'm no expert but if it were me it would try and keep the width & height of any other bands the same or similar to your engagement ring. I think that gives a more cohesive look. I would then look using different diamond cuts or/and mixing metals in these bands or both. If you wanted an even more quirky look you could try an engraved or twisted band or an eternity made from sapphire or rubies.

There are some great ideas on the stack of the day thread too!

i love the mismatched look (and i love marquise stones) and you have a stone large enough IMO to hold its own with a wider band. i think it will look BEAUTIFUL together

I agree with this! That top band is almost a perfect match to your e-ring. But I also love the mismatched/stacking bands. If it were me, I’d go ahead and get the matching band now (as well as a thin, inexpensive spacer band to protect the diamonds from each other) and then add a mismatched band or two later on.

This is what I intend on doing also as soon as I find a mismatched band I like! My current WB is almost an exact match to my ER. While I like them together, it’s almost too matchy matchy. I need to add some flair! I have rather long fingers so I could use some more coverage :mrgreen2:

BEAUTIFUL set!!! And I think a vintagey-looking diamond band in between the two would look amazing!

Love the idea for a floral band by Steven Kirsch. It will be a gorgeous standalone band as well as a beautiful non matchy band for your dream e-ring

Hi Guys,

Thank you so much for your replies. I’ve decided instead to go with this design. (Here it is in comparison to a band the size of my ering band.) It will have the curve to accomodate the underbezel so it will sit flush with my ering. I like it because it’s more classic than my original design (and also more comfortable/practical) but still a bit different. Let me know what you think!

I think the marquise band will look really different (in a good way!) next to your ering - I’d also suggest considering a thin plain or engraved band between your current ering and wedding band to break up that matching look. I’ve seen crisscross bands look really great with an ering like yours too - RingConcierge on IG has a lovely one she wears a lot that really lets her ering be the star

That's a great idea, @foxinsox! I think I may end up doing that and keeping the wedding band straight so that I can wear it on its own if I want. I have followed Ring Concierge for years--love her ig. Thank you again! :)
