Hi Everyone, I've done a lot of reading here and have learned quite a bit about diamonds. I think I've narrowed down my search to the following four stones from Whiteflash and would really appreciate your opinion and advice.

Whiteflash ACA 1.071 H VS2

Whiteflash ACA 1.088 H VS2

Whiteflash ACA 1.148 H SI1

Whiteflash ACA 1.078 G SI1

A side-by-side comparison.

Also, if you come across something that's different that you think would be a better deal, please feel free to suggest away. I would prefer to stay with a G/H stone (I looks a bit yellow to me), and something that's eye clean. I'm open to a WF 'expert selection' stone if you see something there that would work. I would like to spend as little as possible with something no smaller than 1.04ct. Thank you so much for your help.

Out of these 4, I would pick stone 2, the 1.088 carat, H, VS2.

To me, I would rather have an H VS2, rather than a G SI1. The color difference from G to H is barely noticeable, you stay under $8K, and you get a better than eye clean stone cut to perfection.

I don't think you can really go wrong with an ACA. That said, number 3 does not say "eye clean" so I'd avoid that one. Personally, I'd pick 1 or 2.

Thanks for your input so far. Really appreciated.

A couple of newer stones have become available. I would like to get your input before the go ahead. What is the best value out of these ones. Is it still the 1.088 ct?

Whiteflash ACA 1.125 H VS2

Whiteflash ACA 1.136 H VS2

Here's a link to them.

Thanks so much!

I'm a bit confused. Why is the 1.125 H VS2 more expensive than the 1.136 H VS2? The per carat prices are pretty similar, with the 1.136 H VS2 at the cheapest price point per carat. I wonder if it's because they put that diamond up recently and priced it according to market conditions today?

The inclusion plot map on the 1.125 doesn't really match what I'm seeing in the images either; there seems to be a lot of stuff near the 10 and 11 o'clock positions in the ASET and Idealscope whereas the only inclusion is supposed to be a crystal in the table. The inclusion map on the 1.136 is busier, but this doesn't come through in the images.

WF is recommending the 1.088 because the visual diameter difference is only .10mm which they feel offers a comparable size for a lower price point (compared to the 1.136 for an extra $300). So the final two stones to choose from are:

Both beautiful stones lynnwood. Here is the relative size difference on a size 6 finger with a 2mm band.

Both stones are gorgeous. Even though you are looking at an extra $300 or so for the extra 5 points (which is insignificant-ish given the amount you are looking at spending), the hearts image for the 1.136 looks a little off at the tip of the chevron at the 4 o'clock position compared with the 1.088 which is more even in the hearts image to my eyes.

So the 1.088ct one would by my pick of the two.

Thank you tyty333 for that image! That's a pretty neat tool. The diamonds almost look identical in size. It sounds like the 1.088 is a better purchase (thanks for pointing out the hearts image bmfang). That $300 converted to CAD is around $400 which could go towards the setting (Mark Morrell). It seems like a good deal that I could get an almost extra 5 points for $300 more but both face up pretty similar in size so maybe it's better to go with smaller.
