I''m looking into an oval diamond I found at a local store.
I have some information, but not all of it.
Overall I''m trying to figure out if this is a good diamond or not.

Oval .71 vs1 G
Good polish Good Symmetry
Length = 6.47
Width = 4.58
Deep = 3.4

I know I need depth%, table% and girdle.

I know depth% = height (I assume the deep measurement equals height) divided by width.
That would equal 74% which is not good at all.
I just don''t know if length plays into in anyway.

If the 74% is right, would you stay away just from that alone?
I''m pretty sure that signifies a very poor cut diamond.

Thanks for any help

Even with those additional numbers we cannot help you much with assessing cut quality on a facy shape without photos and an ASET image ideally. Can you get either of those?

I agree, but for your information, your depth % methodology is correct.

Good luck

Ditto Dreamer. Also what is the table percentage and have you compared many ovals in person? What type of grading report does the diamond have?
