Need help assessing a stone...

I was sent these pictures/details of a potential stone for a ring (the designer no longer works with outside stones)...I don't really know enough to make a proper assessment myself...
Is this a good stone relative to the price, etc? I'd appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!

*I* personally think its overpriced. Most of the EGL stones I saw on JA were in the $2k for that size but I dont think
they were "old cushions"

I too think it is a little overpriced, but it is an "old stone" (estimated to have been cut somewhere 1880-1900)...I'm not entirely sure how much that factors into the price. I think another factor is probably the fact that it was sourced by the designer, so perhaps a little upcharge for that?

I would love to look for my own stone, but he no longer takes customer stones, so I'm sort of out of luck with regard to that. I could turn down this stone and ask to continue the search for a different stone, but if the quality is good with consideration of age/sourcing fees, I might stick to it...
