Hello,

I've gone to my local custom retailer and they have offered me these 2 round diamonds. I am not sure if the pricing they have given me is fair as I've looked on White Flash, Allen James and Brian Gavin and would really appreciate any member's opinion. I have yet to see them in person as they are being sent from another location as they are no in house but I have obtained a copy of the GIA reports.

1. 1.00 ct G SI1 - $8,000 CAD - told me it should be eye clean and that it was a premium diamond (not sure if that is significant but they educated me on the surface dimension sizes of the diamond ie. larger the better. told me i should be looking at 6.4 to 6.6mm)

2. 1.16 ct G SI1 - $8,800 CAD

Please note the prices are in Canadian dollars.

I have a few friends who have bought their engagement ring from this jeweller and I have a good feeling about it as well.

Sorry I am new to this forum so I apologize if I did not upload or attach the GIA reports correctly.

Thanks for your help in advance.

I do not know the difference in the exchange rate or how the taxes work if you buy out of the country. But I believe these are a step higher in cut quality than the ones you posted. I will post the US prices.

Any one of the Whiteflash posted above is what I would consider...all are Ideal cut, beautiful stones.

The 1.16 GIA you posted, I would not consider and the 1.00 GIA you need to get pictures/Idealscopes etc. You should also know that GIA excellent cut is a very broad range, the only diamonds I would buy sight unseen are Ideal cut AGSL stones.

I agree with the above regarding the diamonds you posted, too.

I second what both posters said, toss the 1.16 back, and consider the WF stones over the 1.0

thanks for the heads up

over here there is a 1.09 exchange rate so the 1ct would be around $7300 USD...i can probably drop it another 100-200

i am seriously thinking of considering that stone if its eye clean when it arrives next week

the retailer did show me a close up picture and it does look eye clean

if the price isnt too bad for this diamond i would prefer buying it from the local retailer than online as i feel more comfortable this way
