Went to an independent jeweler today and looked at 3 different diamonds with these stats. Which would you pick?

#1: .922 carat, I color, SI1, ideal cut for $4650
#2: .838 carat, G color, VS2, ideal cut for $4580
#3: .991 carat F color, SI2, ideal cut for $5400

It was crazy, once you went to a full carat the price jumped to over 8K!

Needs more data, like crown, pavilion angles, girdle thickness and star and LGF size.

Also, sym and polish.

Did you take any photos? IS images? Those would be helpful.

Symmetry and polish are ideal on all. Girdles were I believe medium? I don''t know what star and LFG are.

star facet is a number of facets above the girdle and LGF is lower girdle facet, the numbers will be on the diamond of GIA/AGS report similar to where you find the numbers for the pavilion and crown angle.

If you''re able to compare all three diamonds side-by-side, you should be able to pick the best one on the spot.

Bring the specs back and we''ll help you determine how that stone''s value compares to other stones outside of that store.

Ditto, we can do that no problem at all, if you can''t choose between them we can find out which are likely to be the best lookers then you can check again to see if the numbers correspond to beauty/ performance and if one jumps out at you more than the other.

I''ll be honest, I couldn''t really tell the difference (aside from color slightly). I couldn''t really tell a size difference between .92 and .99 but I could with the .84. However, they were all beautiful! I''ll get the specs and bring them back. However I was slightly concerned about going to SI2.

OIC, that makes it much easier. So all are AGS0 in cut I take it? If the crown, pavilion angles are not greater than HCA score of 2, I will pick #1.

Can you give us the physical dimensions?

Thanks. Can you get me the proportions of each please so I can state my preference -

depth %
table%
crown and pavilion angles
girdle thickness in percentages
diameter measurements
polish and symmetry are ideal yes for all? Do the diamonds all have AGS0 cut grade?

I would like the above info at a minimum.

and if you can -
star and lower girdle percentages

Thanks! If you could get the angles on Saturday that would really help and check all the other measurements that would be great and also note which ones you liked best.

Can anyone tell me what I should look for in these things? And which are most important?
