Hello All....I'm new to the diamond buying and could use some assistance....
I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right spot but I could use some help and opinions regarding the diamond / ring combination I am working on purchasing for my gf....

I have looked at quite a few diamonds at many different retailers over the past month and done quite a bit of homework. i've been to almost 25 different local shops and exchanges to get the most education i possibly can and to see whats out their locally and now im also looking online. This diamond in particular seems to be a pretty nice one so far but I don't want to over pay and I want to get the most for my money. Regarding the double halo ring I found exactly what I was looking for in a store....I thought I was going to have to custom the double halo since I am very picky about what I wanted on top and the sides and the detail work etc....but I have the ring and now I'm just need to get the diamond...
They are asking for $11,300 for the stone and will do the ring $1,850 if i buy the diamond from them too (the original price on the ring was $4,500)
I have pictures of both the ring and the stone which I am going to attach to this.....
Now some of my questions.....
I'm looking online with Blue--Nile and Union--Diamond to try to find some possible stones in 1.70 range to get some online pricing as well and see I can get a better value stone.
My only concern with going to a J in color was the faint yellow that a Gia J can have but I have seen this stone in person and I'm not seeing it bounce yellow back to me. Some Js I have seen from Gia I can notice it right away and others I don't see it at all. With the double halo around the stone, the change in color tone on some of the bad Js I guess you would call it bounce yellow back to me right away and it don't look right but this J looks good. So am I over paying at 11,300 for the stone. I only slightly haggled with the guy in price and I'm going to try to get him down more which I think I can a little.
On the stone, I'm willing to spend around 10-11k but the lower the better obliviously. My gf originally wanted an 2ct stone but that's seems like its going to go over my budget or I would have sacrifice too much too much on color or clarity and I wouldn't be getting a nice eye clean stone without the yellow tint. So I dropped to a 1.70 and i seem to be able to get a pretty good 1.70 around my budget which I'm fine with.
Any opinions help advice would be greatly appreciated by all....I really just want to get the most bang for buck and get a good quality stone with as little markup as possible...I'm very happy with the ring.
