Hello everyone,
Im very new to this whole buying diamond for a ring and need some input from you guys. I have tried going to local jewelry shops and cant find the price and quality that i can find when shopping online. So i have decided to shop online and of course the issue is you don''t get to see the diamond until you pay for it and it comes in the mail. Only thing i have going for me is the person that is selling the diamonds opinion and the GIA report. I have the GIA report attached to this topic and just by looking at it i think its pretty nice diamond but again im no expert. I wanted to see what you guys have to say. My main goal is that it sparkles like crazy and with a naked eye you wont see the imperfections. I like the rock mainly because the big imperfections are located to the side instead of the middle. Again im no expert and if you guys can give me some feedback that would be really great and helpful. I know every diamond is different and without seeing it there is no true way of knowing. Just asking based on your experiences. Also based on the info on the GIA report. What would this diamond be worth. A range would be nice.

Thanks a bunch.

no way to judge the light performance of a princess from the numbers, need at least an ASET image, can the vendor selling this stone provide one? If not, I would not buy from this vendor.

Ditto. You really need images if you want to buy a princess cut online.

if i''m gonna buy a square diamond it better be square.

Ok so let me ask it this way. Which would you choose. The one above or the one listed below? The one listed below is cheaper by a two hundred and is better quality. Thx again.

none.

Why not find an internet vendor that offers images of the stones so you can see something to compare. If you insist on buying a stone sight unseen make sure your vendor offers a good and long return policy in case it doesn''t sparkle like crazy. Nothing from the GIA report will tell you how the stone performs.

Looks like you have a very nice budget. Give us your budget and you can get pointed in the right direction.

Thx for the feedback. Well my budget is around 11k or a little higher for the diamond alone. Key point as i mentioned is sparkles all around and no visible inclusions to the naked eye
.
My plan was to buy the diamond only and take it to get appraised locally to make sure it is what i paid for. Do you guys know if appraisers can get a ASET image of the diamond? The vendor does offer a 7 day return policy for full refund but i was going to ask for at least 15 days.

The items I want for sure are below
Diamond Shape: Princess Cut (MUST)
Center Diamond Weight: 1.5 to 2.0 ct
Color : D - F
Clarity: VVS2 or greater
Cut : Ideal (Brilliant Cut)

I wanted to get a vendor out of California so i don''t have to pay the sales tax. What ever i save on sales tax, i can put into the setting. Was thinking of getting a custom made setting for the diamond. My budget for the custom made setting is around 3k or a little higher.

So far for the money and quality of diamond i cant find any better.

So any ideas or tips would be great.
Thx.
