Hi Everyone,

Thanks in advance for helping me out, you guys have been tremendous towards helping me make my purchase. I think I'm close and I hope this is the right diamond. I've included an idealscope image and the specifications of the diamond. The diamond fits my budget and the associate from Union Diamond assured me it was a beautiful diamond.

The diamond in question is a 0.90ct Round Brilliant Cut Diamond, J in color and SI1 in clarity, GIA Certified.

The diamond has an Excellent Cut Grade, the diamond faces up very white, is extremely bright and is a very clean SI1, a 1ct look without sacrificing quality.

The diamond features a 61.6% Depth, 58% Table, Cut Grade - Excellent, Polish - Very Good, Symmetry - Very Good, No Culet, Strong Blue Fluorescence, the diamond measures 6.19 x 6.24 x 3.83mm.

Please let me know what you think!

EDIT: Idealscope image posted below, thanks Stone-cold!

I wasn''t able to post the idealscope image in the thread, only the link to imageshack. It was giving me and error saying I need to host it on pricescope but I couldn''t find out how to do that, sorry!

Uploaded IS image. You are not suppose to link to image from outside the forum.

The IS looks surprisingly good for that pavillion angle. There are a couple spots of leakage, but overall is a good image.

Ya, only 1 image per post until all are uploaded on the forum, then you can put all image in one post.

Thank you Stone!

Ya, but thinking the IS might be too close to the stone when the image is taken, some parts are darker, kite facets turning to paddle shape. Think that could hide some leakage, hope someone, Karl or Garry, with more experience will interpret this.

Leakage can be seen also with that pavilion angle and being a J colour colour entrapment is a risk, I would keep looking personally.

Have you confirmed eye clean to your requirements?
That's quite a large crystal under the table and I'd wonder if you'd be able to see it at 6-8 inches with good lighting and the correct angle. You can see it standing out clearly on the IS image.

Thank you both for your input. Lorelei, can you explain a little more what you mean by entrapment being a concern? Do you think the leakage will be noticeable to the naked eye? I didn''t think it would because it is zoomed in.

Here is a youtube link of the diamond, maybe this will help http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5brpdCS_mss.

Please let me know your thoughts, I''m very close to making a purchase and I want to be sure I get the right diamond. This is very stressful

Once you start getting much over 41 degrees for the pavilion angle ( regardless of the crown angle) in near colourless diamonds especially, this steep pavilion can trap warmth or colour. In a J colour this effect might be greater so that is why I wanted to point this out to you that it could be a possible concern, that this diamond might show more warmth due to this than a J colour with a less steep pavilion. Because of this and the risk of leakage and other issues, this is why you do not see top cut diamonds with pavilion angles of 41 degrees and above. UD do have a good return policy so you could order it and see what you think, difficult to tell how the leakage will show itself in reality.

Thanks Lorelei for the input. I guess it is hard to tell without physically seeing it.

Does anyone else have any other thoughts after seeing the video/idealscope? Should I look for another diamond?
