Need Awesome Chess Set

If I can't find anything I'm going to have to get something on ebay, probably in the star trek or franklin mint range!

I'd rather not do that, so couple of hundred dollars, tons of detail and awesomeness needed. Any ideas?

I bought my husband a chess set from House of Staunton when I was in college and he loved it. I didn't buy anything terribly fancy, but the quality of the wood and workmanship was amazing. He hasn't played in awhile, but he really does love the set.

It is hard. I have a game table, so I only want the pieces, and I don't want to pay for the board. Be careful of the resin ones. I had a set of Union vs. Confederate. My labradoodle found them irresistible. They must be like rawhide bones or something.

If you have a "Game Work Shop" , it is a great place to look around at different kinds.

I have never bought any of these though.

THAT BIG ONE IS SO COOL!!! Though it worries me that I couldn't find the price; I'm thinking several thousand, so a bit beyond the budget. I really enjoyed seeing that, though, really awesome!

The diamond one is nice to look at, but I think he'd rather have a Lamboughini (sp?) for that money. Not that he's in danger of actually getting one of those either. . .

Not particularly classy, but it was a combo of the advice given here. And the price was great!

The box arrived and it is ginormous! 4 feet long and 3 feet deep and weighs a ton! I have the DH wondering . . .
