So I just purchased my princess 1.02 diamond from excel and now I'm on the hunt for a setting. Would like a pave setting and leaning towards the following two but would like assistance and recommendations. My budget is under 2000 and thanks for the help .

Here is my diamond

Congrats on the diamond! I'm not a huge fan of the James Allen settings. If I had to choose, I'd pick the first one (but I still don't like the prongs).

I do like:
Whiteflash legato sleek line pave:

shown here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/sleekline-legato-thoughts.171913/

ID Jewelry sleek micro pave:

I wasn't a fan of the prongs either but was trying to find something close to what I liked, but I'm not sure if the micro sleek s to small of a band

The WF sleek line is a thinner band, but not as thin as the first JA band. Online pics are deceiving, you have to look at the vendor's ring specs for width and then try to find a pic of the ring on a hand (hopefully with the same ring size as the person your ring is intended for).

There are some other WF settings that you might like: http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/search.htm?t=diamond-settings.

You might take a look at the "show me the bling" forum and browse until you find something you like. I also think you could get a decent deal at a local jeweler's too; then you'd be able to see it in-person and they might be able to give you a discount for setting your stone.

I would not get one of the JA pave settings.

Vatche has superior quality to those so I'd go for one of these below. AND EXCEL IS A VATCHE DEALER, and since you got the stone from them if you get the setting from there there should be no setting fee.

Here's the ones I like shown on WF (so you can see what they look like in real life, WF has better pics than Excel):

Or this one

Both are in budget for you. AND EXCEL CAN ORDER THEM FOR YOU.

Perfect. Call Excel and go from there, then.

First of all Congratulations....I don't like either of the JA settings I thing it would diminish your beautiful stone...I really like the first one that Gypsy posted...I think that it would highlight the stone...my friend at work just became engaged and she has the same type stone with a similar setting...the setting really highlights the stone...good luck and I hope you post a picture of the finished ring.

Gorgeous diamond!

I agree with Gypsy. Always best to get the setting from the diamond vendor. You'll have a hard time getting your stone set locally if you buy a stone and setting from 2 online vendors. Either have the diamond set through Excel (best idea) or go buy a setting locally.

I completely agree with buying the diamond and setting from the same vender but their setting prices are more than I would like to spend.
