Need an opinion on this diamond

I've been looking for a diamond for an engagement ring for a little while now, read a fair bit and think I understand what to look for and what will suit my fiance.

I just want to get an opinion on this diamond from James Allen, mainly worried about the cut as it has a large diameter compared to other stones of this size, and I am concerned it may be too shallow although the depth and table % seem good.

What do you think of this diamond? Does it seem good value for sub-$2000?

Appreciate the help and please let me know if I should post more info

Love the first one you posted. The K VS2, it scored a .6 on the HCA!

And this other one: K VVS1 which scored a 1.4 on the HCA:

I would put both on hold and request ideal scope images on them. JA also offers PS members a discount, so find out what those are on these stones.

Thanks for that, I didn't know of the HCA.

I will take your advice and get an ideal scope for those two!

The first one is way too shallow. See how black it looks in comparison to the other 3? Any of the other 3 would be a much better choice.

That's a good point Julie, but should the idealscope prove that the darkness is only there when viewed very close up or at one angle? Seems like that is common with shallower stones.

Anyone willing to give an opinion on these 2 pictures for me? Both diamonds are K, Ideal cut and very similar, but one is SI2 and the other is VVS1. The price difference is approx $800, do you think it is worth it? Here are the pics:

Obviously the VVS1 is the 2nd and looks a lot cleaner in the photo, but hoping someone with more experience than me can give an idea of how noticeable this will be in real life, if it will effect the "brilliance" and if it's worth paying for. Have asked the gemologist to comment when idealscopes are done.

Also any other comments based on the pictures are welcome, not just to do with clarity!

Thanks a bunch!

The Ideal Scope black is 25 degrees obscuration. However, there is no adjustable/sliding ideal scope that will tell you when it becomes black. FWIW, AGS uses 30 and 40 degrees obscuration in their cut grade system.

The two you posted are very similar, except for the inclusions.
