Hi Folks,

How grateful I'm to find this forum as I need some advise before taking final decision buying my first diamond for my wife within this week. Basically I want to buy her a ring (size 6.5) with small diamond (around 0.4 carat), but I'm stuck between 2 stones:

1. First Stone: AGSL Certificate
Round Brilliant
Size: 4.83x4.87x2.92
Carat: 0.41
Color: F
Clarity: VS2
Cut: Ideal (0)
Light Performance: Ideal (0) - (A lot of Red and blue with very very less green and grey - looks promising doesn't it ?)
Polish: Ideal (0)
Symmetry: Ideal (0)
Fluorescent: None
Table: 55.9%
Depth: 60.2%
CA: 33.9%
PA: 40.9%
HCA score:1.0 - E,E,E,E

2. Second Stone: GIA Certificate
Round Brilliant
Size: 4.98x4.99x3.00
Carat: 0.45
Color: F
Clarity: VS2
Cut: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescent: None
Table: 57%
Depth: 60.1%
CA: 34%
PA: 40.6%
HCA score:0.6 - E,E,E,E

As you can see, both stones almost have same specs (same Color, same clarity, both HCA scores <2, Ideal or Excellent Cut/Symmetry/Polish) and the price between these 2 stones also almost same.

So, I really need some expertise advice which one I should buy?

The AGS or the GIA one?

Request Idealscope images for both stones to make sure they'll both look awesome. I would get an IS image for an AGS stone regardless if it's ideal or been graded for it.
