So I recently purchased a engagement ring that was offered to me for a good deal. Its 4.37 ct Marquise cut lab grown diamond. However the diamond is to big for her finger. I have thought about a few options and could use some advice.

1. Get the diamond removed from current setting and change the setting. With the possibility of looking not as big.

2. Trying to sell it but not sure where to achieve this.

3. Getting it possibly lasered down to a smaller size.

what do you guys think I should do?

Welcome to PS.

If budget allows, keep the existing diamond and set it in a pendant or something else that she would wear.

Then get another smaller diamond that she can comfortably wear.

That's what I would do.

However, if selling the stone and ring is desired, you could try selling platforms such as Loupe Troop, eBay etc., then cross-link it to PS (must have a valid link in order to list it in the Preloved section) to see if any PSers would be interested.

Good luck.

DK :))

Selling an e-ring is tough. Recutting is an option. Can you post photos of the ring? We might be able to give insight on the setting.

Does it sit too high? Does she like the shape? What about it is bothersome for her?

Congrats on your engagement!

Recutting could cost as much as getting a new stone...depending on what you want the new size to be.

What size are you looking at now? Marquise face up large.

I assume you are pass your return date?

Pictures would help as commented above. Hate to see you spend more on a setting and have
it not really help the situation.
