Hi,

I have just started searching for a diamond for an engagement ring and here is what I found so far:

1.0 carat
Table: 65%
Depth: 57.7%
Clarity: IF
Color: E
Cutlet: Small
Girdle: Medium
Flour: None
Sym: Good
Polish: Very Good.
Price: $11,100 GIA Cert says crown angle <30%

I guess I'm concerned about the dimensions, as the table seems large. Can someone comment on this stone? Thanks.

Yup the table is very large, likely to be a problem as the stone will probably be a bit down on fire.
We need to know the crown and pavilion angles, then you can run a Cut Adviser from the front page, and rate the stone.

Probably easier to start with a <62% table.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. How do I find out the crown and pavilion angles? I did not see it on the GIA cert when looking at the stone.

Thanks for the help,
John

You can ask your jeweler to get Sarin or Ogi report for the stone. Many gem labs and diamond cutters can do it in a matter of a minute.
