I'm looking to set the diamond in a simple platinum 6-prong Tiffany knife-edged setting. Please let me know your comments about the diamond or the setting or both. Thanks a lot!!

Re: Need advice on shortlisted diamonds for my engagement ri

I think they are all going to look pretty similar, and your final choice is likely going to be determined by the settings and overall prices that the vendors can offer.

Re: Need advice on shortlisted diamonds for my engagement ri

Do you intend to buy your setting from the same vendor? In this case it may help you choose the stone... Since all the stones you selected look pretty nice and since WF/BGD/GOG all have a good return policy, if one of the vendor has a setting you like best your choice is made :))

Re: Need advice on shortlisted diamonds for my engagement ri

Thank you all for your comments. Looks like I won't go wrong with any of them. Since I'm not going to get a setting from the seller in this case, that's one less criteria for elimination too. I will have to go with my heart then.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions, nfowife. Those look great too but I'm playing safe so am only looking at VS1 and above stones.

Re: Need advice on shortlisted diamonds for my engagement ri

where do you plan to get the setting?

VS2 should be totally safe but nothing wrong with VS1 and above.

I will probably do it locally (Singapore) because I would like to send the diamond for appraisal before setting it.

I would be interested to know where you eventually decide to get your setting done, and where you sent it off to get appraised :)

I'm in your locale as well.

Do you have a recommendation for setting it, Tristan? I don't have much idea and probably need more research in that area.

I do think I know a place to appraise it from my brief search over the internet. It's called Far East Gemological Lab at Orchard Road.
