Hi everyone,

I'm new here, so I apologize if this isn;t the right forum to post this.I'm engagement ring shopping, and have been looking at James Allen and Brian Gavin among other websites. I found what looks like a steal of a deal on James Allen for a .92ct AGS 0 SI2 diamond, but I'm not 100% this diamond will be eye clean. Any thoughts from the experts here if I should pull the trigger on this one?

I highly doubt it will be eyeclean - there's a dark crystal right in the center on the face of the table - it will be easily visible from I'd think every view... sorry, with diamonds really there are no deals (unless you are buying pre-loved/secondhand).

Thank you for the input, that's helpful. I had a feeling that was the case

What would you recommend among these three?

This one looks like it's got a twinning wisp inclusion but gets a great HCA score (1.1)

This is smaller, VVS1 and a lower HCA score (2.6)

Lastly, this one is VVS1 and is the priciest of the three:

The 1st (#56570) is a decent prospect, but personally I prefer a crown angle above 34 degrees and I tend to shy away from 41 degree pavilion angles as they can be tricky. If it fits all your parameters, though, maybe ask JA to provide you with an Aset (you get 3 Asets, so if you're going to ask JA for this one, then try to find 2 more good prospects to include in your Aset request).

The other two I would strike off your list as they both are on the deep side - for modern round brilliants we usually recommend a depth range of 60-62.3% - deeper than 62.3% means you're paying for weight you can't see (and often corresponds with not the best overall cut).

Are you sticking with James Allen for a reason? I ask because WhiteFlash has a gorgeous 0.811ct H-VS2 Expert Selection for under $4K that I think would be well worth considering... http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3213731.htm# - it faces up the same size (apx 6mm) as the 0.84ct stones you linked to.
