I am new to diamonds and would love to hear your thoughts on the two diamonds below. Also, if you have any general advice on choosing a good oval, I'd appreciate your help!
We would need up close pictures straight on of the stones to be able to look at the faceting pattern. Would need to check out bow-tie
and how well it is returning light.
Up close videos of the stones would also be helpful.
If you have either of those, please post.

Edit...General advice about ovals
- compare length/width instead of carat weight
- decide if you like pin-flashes (small flashes, but more) vs some larger flashes but less (these are the ones that would get seen from
further away while pin-flashes are seen more up-close. This would dictate the faceting pattern you should look for (see below)
- minimize black bow-tie
- look for nice feathering from the center of the stone out towards the ends (talking about faceting pattern here)
- as you tilt the stone look for more facets coming into focus (this is with larger faceting patterns, not pin-flashes)
- no shoulders on the stone...nice oval outline
- F/VS2 is high in color...you might want to open yourself to G/H to have access to more nice stones.
- watch out for really thick girdles wasting carat weight
How are these three listed below? I certainly prefer larger flashes.. Do you recommend 8-main then? Also, how can I tell the difference between 6-main and 8-main?
On a separate note, is F/VS2 really high in color/clarity? Is there a significant difference between F and G for ovals? I am totally new to this, so would really appreciate your help. Thank you very much!
