I cant answer that question without pushing the rules for vendors to far.
That the entire WF office liked it would make me curious to see it in person.
 
Understood, are you able to offer what pictures look to be the best and if they were close or the same would you lean more towards a bigger stone?

The IS is from the 1.71 not the 1.68 correct?
What is the clarity grade?
ASET is from the 1.68?
I skipped over it because the IS is clearly the 1.71 which you said you were not interested in.
By the looks of the 1.71 it wont be eyeclean.
Verify the images, re-post.

For those interested, I've moved my other thread over here. My DK ring can be bought but without any pics and likely needs to be resized. i was emailed the GIA cert by Pearlman's and the specs look great. 1.51 H VS1 EX/EX. It's smaller than the WF and BG stones I am reviewing still. I'm leaning towards passing on the DK ring w/o being able to see more pics and then still having to ship to Pearlman's likely get resized and then no chance to return or upgrade.

So I have three options:

1) The DK ring (details above on the PITA factor in dealing with lack of info, etc)
2) 1.66 WF stone (all pics, videos and reports in thread)
3) 1.68 BG stone VS1 clarity I like (new pics are a few thread post ahead, I posted wrong ones initally...sorry I have been a mess in this process :?

Price is close, but WF has best price/service combo to date and I feel best about it, just want to make sure my new best friends on PS steer me the right way...you guys have been such a blessing and I've learned a ton.

Compare to the p3 article, another one with bad p3 angles.
 
SD I adore Pearlmans, but I don't think that ring is a good fit for you.

I would pick one of these, whichever Karl prefers.

Interesting, and crazily, I think I can see what you mean.

that said, I couldn't tell with the WF stone and the P3 angles...any thoughts Karl?

I've got the most imagery of that stone on here and had an in depth convo with Bryan, a gemologist at WF and he said its one of the better asschers he has seen in a while...
 
Caveat that I'm not an asscher expert, but the WF one sure looks pretty to me!

the corner pavilion facet angles, looks more like p2 could be slightly better to make the windmills stronger but the p3s are overall fine.
The dark box around the center ideally would be red at the corners and split into 4 dark areas, But it looks like it is obstruction mostly which will vary person to person so it could be just fine.
This is a far less serious issue than p3s and it could look just fine in person.
In the vid and pic they did light up so it isn't a dead zone.
A bunch of people looked at and liked it is a big plus.
That is as far as I can go and I am maybe pushing it a lot saying this much.
 
what is the color/clarity/size of the WF one?
 
My last post sounded like I am frustrated and im sorry.
I am not frustrated with anyone in this thread and certainly not SDplaya.
It has just been a bad day my cold is back in full force from being out in the cold for an hour and half because some @%@%@% hit and ran my car and took the nose off it. (pics in hangout)
And I cant get to sleep and have to be up early to deal with the insurance company.
I'm off to bed to try and sleep will check back in tomorrow... errr later today.

How do the dimensions compare with the BG one? I think BG is having a one day sale today (10% off?) -- but I'm still leaning toward the Whiteflash one. The video sells it. Looks like a incredibly rare, gorgeous stone. Has Kenny weighed in? It reminds me of his** ...

** his "generic" Asscher, not the Octavia (which is also lovely).

I just got that email from them too.The BS stone sill is a hefty chunk more ($3000 or so) than the WF one and yes, the video and pics have sold it and about an hour of chatting with their gemologist. I will decide today but would love if kenny could weigh in!

Karl and Gypsy you have both been great and I can sense this WF stone has Karl's seal of approval or the cloest thing to it ;)
 
Well I bought the stone today from WF and its being sent to me to review. Pumped! Hope to get it appraised over the weekend and start looking for settings via WF again.
