Hi All - coming to the experts! I need to have my ring re-set (LONG story). I saw a setting about 5 years ago (funny how those things never leave your memory!) that would be perfect for my 1.96 ct round solitaire. The problem, you ask? I can''t remember the designer!! I have searched all over - found it once on the web and then lost it! So.....let''s see if any of you have thoughts on which designer might this be and it the setting is still available!.....

Platinum (may also come in white gold - not sure) Side stones (pave). center stone sits up HIGH (as in really high - in a basket setting, I think). Underneath the center stone are two small circle bands of pave diamonds. The ring was meant to show off a beautiful center stone.

I checked of course all the designer web sites -- but nothing obviously but their newer collections are on line. Any thoughts??????

THANKS!

are you referring to this?

No. Thank you though! It is not a double shank. It is a single band that then tapers at the top, with two pave circles and then the "basket setting" on top. There is no diamond boarder around the center stone. It sits up by itself......

I''m confused about the sidestones, are they in a halo too? Or is it one stone with pave around it... Did you look at Pearlman''s site, is it a designer setting. We need more info about it. Did you see the ring on PS?

I could be so off the mark but it sounds kinda like a verragio setting.

Is it something like this? they have a few different versions.

Website is here http://verragio.com/index.php

Good call, sounds like this could be it??

Yes - it looks very similar to the verragio setting. Without the band under the center stone and instead two small pave circles around the four prongs. I thought for sure it was an "older'' verragio setting, but am having trouble finding anything that they might have had a few years back. Any ideas where to look for some previous, older settings? THANK YOU!!!!

I''ve been gone from the forum for a while but remember all the help I received when looking for my anniversary ring.
I found a beautiful stone with everyone''s help here. I did however sacrifice on the setting. It''s so frustrating. Well that''s a story for another day. Basically we spent over our budget for the center stone and I couldn''t get the eternity mounting with matching band. But, DH is actually considering getting me what I originally wanted for our next anniversary.

My DD is getting engaged! Yikes. They want me to help because they love my new diamond. I''m more than willing. Due to my setting mistake I hope I''m up to the task.

She has me looking for a mounting like the first picture posted by WSE. I''ve been looking all morning and stumbled on this post. She doesn''t want a split shank. And, wants the band to sit flush against the ering.

Can someone tell me the designer for that ring? Jack Kelege comes close but it''s probably way too expensive.

Originally she wanted a cushion cut but thinks she needs a 2.00 to look substantial enough. I really love her idea of putting the rounded square halo with a round stone. And from what I see JK does this beautifully.

From what I''ve gathered from talking to her, they are thinking of a 1.50 center stone. I think they may have to go smaller to stay in budget. More like a 1.00ct with the halo. She really like big styles and this is going to be hard for her. We''re starting with the parameters of H color and SI1 that is eye-clean. I have an SI1 that I can hardly find the flaw with a loop. I love it.
She''s not going to be as picky with clarity but really wants brilliance/fire. Here I go again!

ShineGirl I would try calling up Verragio or an authorised dealer and see if they can prod you in the right direction :). I really hope you can find it :)

Mrs.T The designer of that setting is Knox Jewelers you can see it here http://www.knoxjewelers.biz/index.htm?crn=203&rn=937&action=show_detail.
