My wedding band

I have a plain platinum wedding band, and I recently inherited an anniversary band from my grandmother that has six diamonds embedded in it. My grandmother's ring itself is worn and not flattering on my finger, so I'd like to have the diamonds removed and put into my wedding band. Is this possible with a platinum band? And will it cost an arm and a leg?

P.S. My wedding band is only 2mm wide.

It would be price prohibitive.... Plat. is enormously hard to work with and most Jewelry stores will have to send the ring away to a specialist. Why not wear your Grandmother's ring on a chain instead, or save it for your daughter?
