My vintage ring - color change

I just bought this a few days ago. The lady I bought it from wasn''t sure what the stone was (thought maybe glass). It changes color in sunlight vs incandescent from a bright mint green to a blue. My Presidium Duotester came up as jadeite/spinel and the chelsea filter shows pink. I''m wondering what exactly it is that I have. Maybe color change garnet?

First of all, for a definite ID, you need to get a gemologist to look at it. It is impossible to id a gem from a photo.

I am, however, going to give in to temptation and speculate

: synthetic spinel.

Blue garnets were only found recently, in Berikili, and they are generally small. They also change to a purple, not green. Synthetic spinel, on the other hand is very common and colour change is easy to achieve. It is also consistent with the tester and the chelsea filter.
