My trip to an Antique Show...

It was fun. Alot of antique furniture, dust collectors and of course, JEWELRY!!

This periodot caught my eye. It had such a pretty apple green color and an asscher cut, how could I resist! So I had to get it (sorry, was so excited I failed to ask the stats on it). Also purchased a bezel set diamond necklace.

Wow, I LOVE the necklace!! Do you think that type of setting is common? I don''t think I''ve seen anything like it in any jewelry stores around here! I have a bezel set ring with my mom''s wedding diamond in it, but I would love a necklace like that!! [Was it expensive, if you don''t mind me asking?]

Karee, I have seen many diamond bezel necklace like the one I just posted. I got a really good deal on this particular one because I purchased the ring. The diamond is small, .25 ct, but the bezel really makes it pop. I got it for 150. WF sells these on their website, but I think it''s priced substantially more.

Yes,you are right, there isn't any cut corners (I didn't even notice that). So, is this more a square emerald cut?

It''s just a square step cut Mochi. An emerald cut has cut corners. There are also no windmills which you''d need for an Asscher. It doesn''t matter though because it''s lovely, no matter what the cut.

I will have to look around for that necklace! I''m almost done with my PhD, and will have a REAL job soon, so I''ve been hunting for things to spend my first REAL paycheck on.
