Spinel is 1.49 ct Mahenge from Tan. Fantastic color, wonky cut. This jeweler, EidelPrecious, from Etsy, did a very nice job. She tried her best to place an asymmetrical stone in a delicate setting. The result is nice, and the stone performs! Anyhow, in Mahenges, color rules, I can not even tell you how it sparkles. It is something unimaginable.

I could not resist the temptation to post a blurry photo just to give you an idea of how the stone looks in real life. As it often happens with Tan's purchases, this was totally random.

Unbelievable colour to the point where I did not even notice the asymmetrical cut. The jeweller also did a great job in trying to balance it yet keep it delicate.

kt - thank you. It has a very delicate gold setting with "zigzag" frame around the stone and tiny, very well-set diamonds on the shank. The stone is set quite high which allows the light to flow through it. I am impressed by the proportions of the setting, she did not close too much of the stone. letting the light access it from all directions. Just what I like. I plan to send a CC garnet to her to reset. The prongs are pretty strong and "hug" the stone so I think it adds security to the setting.

I did crappy photos, today I totally understood it, and did not use any decent light, I wish I could delete it and start all over. My tubular Solux lamp died on me. I shall take better pictures on the weekend and post them here, because none of mine reflected this bright, saturated color and incredible sparkle of the stone. Everyone asks what it is. I wish I could find something larger of this color! It is not a new material which you have to twist to "optically remove" the brownish tinge before you photograph it.
