My Scott Kay ring came back! And it''s gooooorgeous!!

I bought my setting from Jared''s Galleria- it was a return and whichever benchman took out the last owner''s diamond did a pi$$ poor job! But lucky for me, Jared''s discounted it heavily, I fell in love with it, found the perfect diamond for it, and off it went for a little extreme makeover at Scott Kay!

The before pictures...

I''m surprised the baguettes weren''t toast when the last diamond as removed!

Ah, but now to the AFTER photos! Perfection. Not a hint of what my poor ring went through! And the fab diamond isn''t bad either

My favorite ring ever (and wedding set combo) is the Tiffany Lucida with it''s matching 3mm plain band. So my heart did flips when I first saw the side view!

I believe the baguettes are .30tcw (?). Jared''s didn''t know and the setting has been discontinued, so I''m guessing!

The diamond is gorgeous too.

It''s gorgeous!!!

For the next few years my ring''s buddy is a plain platinum 3mm band! A diamond band will join at some point

LOL, I just had to click on that thread title! The after shots are beautiful. I love the side view with the crossover prong and fully exposed diamond.

What the heck did the Jared''s benchman use to remove the last stone? He really mangled that poor setting.

Thank you Laila and Vesper! I did a very loud and embarrassing gasp when the SA handed me the ring! I guess my expectations weren''t too high because I didn''t realize it would come back looking brand spankin'' new! The 5 week wait was totally worth it.

Gorgeous! It''s like a new ring - so beautiful. Congrats and enjoy!

The transformation is amazing

Kay- LOL! I forgot to add that my ring''s cleavage grew to a busty .80ct

Jared''s discounted it 65% and then tossed it into a box under their counter where no customer could see it. Thankfully my SA remembered it and pulled it out to show me, while saying "You''re not going to like it but since you need platinum I''ll show you" and of course I loved it! I don''t know what the guy did but it was horrible. I called Quest Jewelers to see if they could fix it for me (Jared''s wouldn''t touch it) and they suggested that Jared''s send it back to Scott Kay and have it fixed on their dime- and they did!

My diamond's specs:

Color: I
Clarity: SI2
Certificate: GIA
Depth: 60.6%
Table: 56.0%
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle: Thin to Medium, Faceted
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 6.01*6.03*3.65
Crown Angle: 33.0°
.80 carat
.8 TIC on HCA

I picked out the ring from Jared.com and had it brought it, then it was sent to Scott Kay with the setting. I highly recommend if anyone else buys their SK setting and diamond this way, having it sent directly to SK for them to set.

My diamond before this that I returned to Jared's was a .76 IGI. I won't go into the comparisions but will say that there is a HUGE difference between an IGI vg/vg and a GIA ex/ex. I'm extremely satisfied and would say my .80 GIA is compareable to the AGS000 that I once owned.

wow, they did a great job with the setting makeover. your ring is just gorgeous!

Legra, Bleeblue, & SparklyOEC- Thank you so much! I really love it.

Great set, it looks awesome. Where are the inclusions? can you ever see them? I am always curious about SI2s, owning one myself.

Wow, what a transformation! So happy for you! The funny thing is that I was just looking at your old thread where you mentioned that you had to sell your other ring to help your parents, and I was just wondering if you were going to get a replacement anytime soon! It was great to see your post! It''s really beautiful, enjoy!

very pretty!

It''s beautiful! I''m a huge fan of the Lucida too so I love it! The baguettes give it that perfect little something special.

It looks like a beautiful ring - good for you!!
