Hi everyone!
Just wanted to share my replacement engagement ring I just got from Peter Norman Jewelers in Brentwood. Long story short, I lost my engagement ring about 2 months ago (it was about 7 years old) and the insurance company referred me to Peter Norman. I cannot say enough how great Nevada was at the store. I was so upset by the loss and she helped me through the entire process. I came here, and learned so much, and was debating whether to get a stone from GOG and setting by Mark Morrell, but in the end the ease of dealing with a local jeweler was the most important thing to me. It's so strange to have to buy your own engagement ring; my husband offered to do it but I know he really didn't want to and I felt so responsible for losing it that I wanted to do it myself. The best part about Peter Norman was that I was able to buy the diamond wholesale directly from the dealer and saved the sales tax (I know, technically I should pay it) so all I paid the jeweler for was the setting.
The stats:
1.25 carat H SI1 - it's totally eyeclean and it was the right price!
Size 3.75 platinum ring
I love the vintage look of this setting, but at the same time it has a modern edge to it. I tried my best to take photos, but it is SO hard! There are three graduated diamonds on each side.

Outside in the sunlight

Close up of the profile - it doesn't look good in the photo, but trust me, in person it's just gorgeous!

Finally, an attempt at a macro shot...

Just wanted to thank everyone on the board for all of the info you are willing to share. I didn't ask any questions, but I learned so much from reading everyone's posts. Thank you all!
