My recycling project is complete

Just back from the jeweler. My sapphire and diamond 3 stone ring is finally done! 2.02 carat blue sapphire with .25 carat each diamonds recycled from a pair of earrings that my mom never wore and gave me. Don''t have any specs on the diamonds other than carat weight but they are probably at least SI2 to I1 clarity. Still they look great mounted as side stones and hey-- they were free!! 14k white gold Ingwer mounting.

What a beautiful ring! I think the side diamonds are the perfect size for your sapphire!!! Where did you buy your stone?

I won the sapphire in an Ebay auction. I wish it were a little lighter in color but it''s still a very nice stone and the jeweler seemed to think that it was a good buy and agreed that it was probably a VVS quality stone.

Thanks, it was supposed to be my mother''s day gift but the Ingwer mounting company was closed for 4 days during Passover and got all of the orders pushed back about a week.

Ah Lil, as I suspected would happen, I''ve grown attached to my pear shaped diamonds as earrings. Now I want to make Eurowire earrings out of them much like Bagpuss'' set. I''ve been scoping out some more round diamonds on DirtCheap to pair with the pink spinel.

The jury is still out on what to do with the red spinel.
