whew i got super excited when the Fedex man came that I plopped DD in front of Elmo's world & did a super fast photo shoot & upload!
so i actually don't mind the peg setting as much as i thought!"
I do plan on discussing some things with Quest - setting the stone lower in the setting and also the shank is not as tight, slim and "perfect as i had hoped. it looks hand-made (which isn't a negative), but it is not a perfect round shape and also has some waves in it when looked at from the side. i hope pete can re-work it so that the twists are tighter and more uniform.
otherwise i love it!
woobug - do you think your band was made by hand? the twists look all the same and much more compact than this ring.
My bands were done by autocad and then wax....i assume. I will post a copy of the cad tomorrow so you can see them. Did Quest do yours by hand? from what I can see it looks beautiful.
mine was hand-wrought. i guess with the wax it can be "perfect" vs. artisanal-looking.
hmmmm i''m ok with it. I did email pete to see if he can get the shank more tightly-twisted and more uniform. also to set the stone as low as possible.
than it really will be perfect to me!
Ooooh, I like it!!! I love the twisted rope look, what a great solitaire! I''d love to have a split shank with the rope look someday. That box really IS something special, holy cow!!
I''m glad that the setting (of the head) is not such a big deal IRL!
It''s amazing what those highly magnified photos can do to your perception of the ring!
Congrats!!
