Scott Laborie did a good job of recutting my synthetic spinel from a 10x8 mm down to approximately an 8x6 mm size so that it would sit lower in the setting I have planned for it. I dropped it off at a local jeweler a little while ago to see what he can design and what the cost will be.
I also plan to let Phil Lagas-Rivera take a look at it and give me a quote.
I'm not 100% sure I'm going to have it set, though, as I'm also waiting on another cutter to cut me a paraiba-colored YAG. I can't afford two rings right now, so whichever stone excites me the most will be the one that gets set.
