Wow, that''s neat how you can see the whole stone! Nice modern design, too! If you are having issues with the setting, be SURE you have this ring insured because it would be a disaster to lose that diamond or something!
Whoa! that is incredible engineering! Looks like a piece of ice on your finger. I bet it is quite the conversation starter! Congratulations on your beauty!
Thanks, I like the "differentness" of the setting. Also reminds me of when I was a kid - would go to rock shows with my dad. This setting reminds me it is a rock (albeit a sparkley one) and I catch myself staring at it and smiling. My husband teases me about it
Unfortunately, I purchased it up in a mall store. I KNEW better...but it was such a great "deal".
Ummmmm no.... it really was not a great deal because there is a casting fault and I am going to have it repaired at my expense (long story) to have it rebuilt right. Taking it to a different jewelers will void the warrenty. However, having it repaired correctly will save me years of heart ache (I think).
The mall store would keep hacking away at it if I let them, but am going to my trusted jeweler to have the prongs/diamond holding bars/whatchamaddiggies on the sides rebuilt. My jewelers said it will look better after she is done. She has the proper equipment, laser and training to rebuild platinum.
Lesson of the story: I will never buy platinum from a chain store again - from my experience, their bench jewelers don''t have the experience/training or interest to care for it properly.
