Okay, so evidently I was not the only one who enjoyed the sale at AC Stones today. LOL! I have had my eye on this spinel for a while now. And the sale gave me the perfect reason why I absolutely HAD to purchase it today.

It looks like everyone had a great time shopping at ACS yesterday.

Ooooo, love the shape, cut and color! Can''t wait to see it in person.

Lovely color, Joolski. What will you do with it?

HI:

When I read the title of your thread, I thought you bought that horn/freeform shaped pink spinel that was such a stunner! This one is to die for also! Well done!

cheers--Sharon

Joolskie,
You MUST bring this spinel to the next Lancaster G2G!

WOW that looks very very nice. Spinels are really hot on PS right now. I like the color on this one and the cut looks interesting too.

Setting ideas?

Edited to add: Do you think it is big enough mm wise for a ring? Or do you have other plans for it?

Why not? I have a few stones that are 6 mm, set in a ring.

I''m new at colored stones and can''t visualize what 6mm would really look like on my hand.

I have holed punched a circle and that is 6.5mm and it looks small to me. BUT it''s just a flat piece of paper to give me an idea. Its''s not a real 3 dimen gemstone, with personality and color. So it only gives me a small idea. So I thought I''d ask cause you guys have done this before.

Stone Hunter... check out the thread about my sapphire solitaire! The sapphire is 5mm. The diamond in my e-ring is also 5mm.

Actually, ever since I had the blue sapphire set as a solitaire, I have imagined having a series of colored stone solitaires to wear as RHR. I could pick a solitaire depending on what color mood I am in that day. LOL!

I am thinking that this spinel will be the second in the series... :-)

Yes that is a gorgeous stone! And it looks great on your hand. I really like your idea about having many many stone solitaries!

What a gorgeous spinel, the color is yummy!!

So cool; there were a couple of sapphires I was eyeing and when I went to put them in the shopping cart it said sold. You have a beauty there!

Okay guys... I have been out of town with limited computer access for the past week. Now that I am home, I have managed to take some real life photos of my beautiful new spinel.

Enjoy!

This is my favorite shot of it. The cut and color look lovely. Any photos of settings you''re thinking about?

I love spinels!

What a beautiful stone! I love the pink color.

That is very pretty...I just LOVE pink!

Can''t wait to see how you decide to set it!

Love the color and the cut!

I am not sure what I would like to do. My budget is not all that big right now. So, I have been adding to my small gem collection without thinking much about settings. This spinel is such a glorious pink which brings out a bit of the girly girl in me. When I look at it, I imagine a delicate setting with some sparkle to it.

Now that I have a purple spinel and a pink spinel... what I would really like to do is add blue and red to my collection!

However you set it rose gold would bring out its color (just an idea!)

This is a very pretty stone! Love the colour and cut and second the idea of setting it is rose gold!
