These pictures were worth waiting for. It is a beautiful ring and it looks beautiful on her hand. Great job! It will look fabulous with a diamond eternity band.
Thanks, belle. I thought these would come out better but I think its when you have to condense th picture or something. These things look so much better downloading straight from the camera. They just don''t have the same crisp clarity posting here. Oh, well!
kc i think they look great...the beauty of the ring is definitely visible. plus practice makes perfect, the more pix you take the better you get..keep going!
there have been threads in the past on how to post pix on PS but the bottom line is that your camera probably takes 2MP pictures or something, you have to 'resize' them down to a viewable size (aka 500 pixels square works nicely for PS), by using a number of different tools (aka ms photo, photoshop, paintshop, corel, illustrator etc) and then save them down to a 'medium' type quality (depends on size of picture, it usually tells you this in the program as you are saving, keep it under 100kb). then just post them!
it's actually not that hard...i think sometimes people get intimidated by the breadth of photo programs out there and the number of tools that they offer, but if you do have one on your computer, open it up and play around with the resize tool and the crop tool (picking out areas of the picture to focus on, aka that last pic belle posted looked like she cropped just the ring out of a larger pic)...and saving down to certain sizes and qualities etc.
i taught myself photoshop and i am not a wiz by any means but i keep getting better by playing around with pictures and the tools to try to find out what does what. then again i love photos, not just of diamonds, so it's fun for me!
anyway, just a quickie note for those who talk about not being able to post their own pix, practice makes perfect, just like taking the photos!
the pics are great kc! the photos were very large, so when i reduced the size, some of the clarity was lost in the hand shots. i cropped the ring close up in a coulple of the pics to show the beauty of it.
(see if you can change the picture size on your camera settings to something smaller...that may help with the size)
Yeah, my camera takes 3.2 megapixels or at least that''s what it says on the front. I actually played around with photoshop ang got it below 100 kb but still had trouble posting. Thanks to belle, they made it. The actual photos are 700-800 kb and they turned out really well. Is their any web host that I can post these larger images to and have friends go to see them. Sending 5-7 MB emails don''t work for everyone.
kc...if they were truly under 100kb (make sure you are looking at size on disk and not just size on file, there are two numbers..one may be 90.5kb and the other could be 101kb and PS will not take it if the larger number is not under 100!)...then you may have had to rename them something more unique, aka kcwadejsi2a and make sure there are no funky characters in the title such as /-%& etc.
Otherwise they should post, I have never had a problem if I follow those three rules, under 100kb, unique name and no funky characters! oh and JPG or GIF file extensions.
anyway, try it with your next batch of pictures....otherwise i think belle should start getting picture posting commissions!
Thanks so much for the pictures. I''ll be buying a similar diamond (1.2 RB) in the next few weeks but wasn''t sure how it would look on my gf''s size 4.5 finger--now I do!!! Probably will end up getting a similar band and setting too!
I''ll also chime in on picture compression. If anyone has Office XP, then the Picture Manager program that is included is a VERY simple way to compress pictures and it does a great job.
I wanted to post my question in here because the ring can be seen. I have had some issues in jewlery stores with the fitting of a wedding band with this ring. There has been a lot of people in these stores stating the ring is set "really low" and it will be "hard to fit a band with it."
She likes the shared prong eternity band or the shared prong wedding band from signed pieces. My issue is all the bands we have tried on have set higher and just didn''t look right.
How can I be sure that I get a band from a place that will fit flush with the e ring? Or is that going to be a major problem. And what do I need to ask or provide so the place can make it right.
I have a CZ in the same exact setting as this (6 prong tiffany type solitaire) and it sits totally flush with my SP eternity band. I don''t have any pictures of the two together, but I have the 1.07cwt shared prong round band from SP. I don''t wear the CZ but I did try it on with the band when I first got it.
I think the only way to see how bands will fit is to go to a jewelry store and try on different styles. For me, I didn''t like the way the channel set bands looked so shared prong was the only look I liked.
