I'm home all day today so thought I'd take photos of my silly little collection. Most of them cost under $100 and were bought on ebay. I just wanted my "treasure chest." I know they're not amazing in any respect, but they're fun to take pictures of.

So without further ado

You have a lovely collection athenaworth

Very pretty gem collection, Athena.
I especially like the orange Citrine asscher.

Great photos, Athena! :appl:

Thank you for sharing your collection, which, by the way, I do not find "paltry" at all.

I know you're looking for the right setting for your Big Barry and may put your lil' Barry in your e-ring setting. So, I guess the next logical question is: do you have any plans for the rest of your sparklies? :cheeky:

For now they're just oogle material. It was fun playing and photographing them today. I may do a little more of that. :-P

They are very pretty, Athena! Nothing paltry there. I love Little & Big Barry, can't wait to see them set.

I love them! don't call them paltry, call them pretty! lovely colors! I love the greens...

YOUR COLLECTION IS NOT PALTRY !!!!

It is fun to play with and photograph gems !!!!
I enjoy it much more than having them set...
I love your photos, and love the big Barry the best

But your new sapphire ~ oh WOW !!!!!!!

Very lovely collection. Even if the gems are inexpensive, they are well chosen and very pretty.

Do my eyes deceive me or does the citrine show facet doubling?

Lovely! :appl:

In the spirit of the haunted mansion.... there's always room for one more! ;))

Very nice collection, Athena. How fun!

What is facet doubling?

Edit: looked it up. Yeah I think it does have facet doubling

I really do love photographing CS. There's just something so crisp and pure about them.

They look good enough to eat. :lickout:

Very pretty. I love the pear topaz especially.

Holy smokes! I wouldn't call your collection paltry! Those rings are gorgeous and that red spess is yummy :lickout:

That's how I know I'll keep a stone: if I wanna eat it. Nomnomnom

They are so pretty. I think it is a nice collection. And the rings are beautiful. Your spessartite is lovely.

They're all really pretty! My favorite is the amethyst, I love that checkerboard crown.

Very pretty indeed and well chosen. Your rings are gorgeous but the big Barry is lush!

Your photos are excellent. My favourite is the pink ring.

 paltry!!!! Definitely not, they're gorgeous.

I especially love the copper bearing tourmaline - it's like looking at a galaxy

What an amazing collection! Very inspiring!

Your individual shots are amazing - I can see each facet detail and how each colour fills and plays within the stone.

Those are NOT paltry. Love the color of little Barry.

I love your big Barry...I really love 2 tone stones.

Big Barry's been sold. :-( Makes me a bit sad, but he's gone to a loving home.

Thank you everyone for the compliments. If I could just take photos of bling all day I think I'd be a happy camper.

Thank you so much for posting all your gems! I especially love the group shot which shows all the different colors and shapes in one photo. It's hard for a novice like me to understand how things look, and not knowing of any stores that stock many colored gemstones, PS is the best place for me to look. One of these days though, I'm going to Intergem. But first I have to save some money and give myself a budget.
